Annoying ugly freak!! No, I’m just kidding.
Tai-san is my idol. Of course he’s first on every list and represented by the color brown. I love Tai. In 01, the slight
absence of him caused the other characters to fall into doom and abyss. He was the first leader, and set the standards for
Takato, Takuya, and Davis. ( Tai, besides being
an amazing oniichan to Kari, was such a nice guy to like, everyone in 01. He reclaimed all of the Digidestined every time
they went astray…he always used his stupidity to make him look cute, instead of dorky…he remembered Mimi’s
name in the first episode…Tai was probably the most qualified leader of any season, no offense to Daisuke-kun. ( I think Tai was
probably my first favorite character, although I’ve gone through so many. The only times in 01 when I didn’t like
him was when he carelessly led Agumon to digivolve into the all-evil (yet slightly awesome) SkullGreymon! I also thought he
was a meanie when he wouldn’t let Izzy fight Piedmon near the end...but even then, I can see why he did it. Tai was
the first anime character I ever drew…which started off my artistic talents. So anyway, 02. Tai is incredibly good-looking.
High school looks hit him like a ton of bricks (umm, something to that affect). He’s a lot more mature, yet still quite
paranoid when it came to Agumon with a dark-spiral. When I first saw episode one of 02, I cried when he gave ( Umm, yur welcome.
Yeah, so Tai’s still cool, and will remain cool until he chops off all his hair and becomes an “ambassador dealing
with human and Digimon relations” or whatever the heck T.K. said he did. (Just as a side note: T.K. made all that stuff
up because he was jealous when he realized he wasn’t as “special” as he was in 01. But we’ll get to
that later…) Relationships: Matt and Tai are best friends one minute, and sworn enemies the next. They fought constantly about taking the safe route, and Tai intervened slightly in Matt and T.K.’s brother-complex.
They were probably better friends in 02, despite the umm, incident. At one point, Matt had to punch Tai in order to get through
to him…which was somehow explained as a way best friends communicate when they’re ummm, boys. Oh yes, and I tend
to lean toward Taito when asked what my favorite shounen-ai couple is. (Risu: ::blushes
at the thought of 02 Tai and Matt:: Anyaa! Tai: That wasn’t
the least bit random. Matt: I think I’m
gonna throw up.) Tai also has a really
cute relationship with Izzy, but I’ll get to that later. His relationship
with Kari is very sweet, and he seems like the opposite of Matt in how he acts around his sibling. He’s protective,
but also talks to her like he would talk to a friend. The only weakness Tai seems to have is when he thinks about Kari being
sick. Tai has these recurring flashbacks of when he neglected her and she ended up in the hospital. I like these flashbacks…probably
because all of the side-stories in Digimon made it WAY more than a cartoon for little kids. Coupling: Taiora all the way! Woot! Tai and Sora were made for each other. They were childhood friends, and
pretty close in 01. Sora and Tai seemed to be the only characters who even knew each other prior to the first episode. (Although,
as the first part of the movie points out, I think Joe might have called Izzy on the phone (except in the show he said that
he didn’t know Izzy back then...but whatever. I’m analyzing the random details too much.)) So where was I?
Ah yes…in the movie Sora was like, in love with Tai. But as we all know, Tai’s fragile heart gets broken in 02,
and Sora gives her homemade love-cookies to Matt (stop thinking naughty things about the word “love-cookies”). (Ken: I was NOT!) Tai’s Digimon: Koromon, Agumon, Greymon, MetalGreymon, SkullGreymon, WarGreymon, and Omnimon. (I have no idea what
any of the baby-form names are, and I’m not going to look them up because anyone who is reading this probably already
knows who everyone’s Digimon are. I’m just putting these here to show off that I know the rest of them by heart
^__-) Family: A dad who we don’t know much about, a mom who cooks REALLY bad food, and Kari. Oh yeah, and
Kari’s cat Mikko. My Favorite Quotes:
“Our adventure in the Digital World might be over for now, but that gate won't stay closed forever.”
(yes, I cried after this line) “So what am I supposed to do? Throw the digivice at the monsters and hope they get scared and run away?” Risu: So, Tai-san.
What’d ya think about my analysis? It was my first one, you know. Tai: I wanted Sora’s
love-cookies. **sob** Risu: -_-;; moving
on...
Yamato Ishida- Crest
of Friendship Tai was the first character I really respected.
But Digimon being one of the first animes I had ever seen, I thought Matt was the hottest cartoon guy that ever lived (yes,
this was before I discovered CLAMP guys). He was so witty and suave…I squealed every time he appeared on the screen,
as any good fangirl would do. A blonde hottie with blue eyes and a harmonica was all I needed to watch Digimon every week
^_-. In 01 he had this teenage angst thing going on that really provided for good character development. I mean, to have a
full set of personalities, you need a character that betrays everyone and turns
his heart into a dark cave that swallows up his future wife. Lol. But seriously, I loved how his character bio in the first
couple episodes said that he made all the jokes. Which I found amusing…and charming (until Matt became all angst-like
and Joe started cracking random sarcastic jokes). I also kinda felt for him when he realized T.K. didn’t need him anymore.
It must have been so hard to let go of his brother after the divorce. I adored this little sub-plot about the parents splitting
up. I know it’s a terrible thing, but the show is so great to put in such diverse and complex issues. Sure, the whole
side-story is rather subtle, but when I dug down deep into the show, Matt’s family life probably causes him to be so
insecure. Remember right before the Digidestined left to go fight the Dark Masters? The whole family was in a scene together,
and Matt’s attitude really showed how much distance he had with his mom since the divorce. Ah, I’m sorry. I’m
going off into one of my “I think about the show too much” tangents. One thing I really
loved about Matt in 01 was his reverence for the dead Digimon. Even though it ultimately began the 10 episode fight with Tai,
Matt was a very honorable character. Hehehe, and he has the most awesome Digimon of anyone. I mean come on, werewolves rule
all! Oh, oh! And he had a swan boat!! I loved how the swan boat was considered “Matt’s boat” in the “Lone
Joe” episodes. Okay, so I think
I’ve said enough fluffy, cute stuff about him… (Tai: Here it comes…
-__- Matt: **sob!**) Season two: I was
so excited when Matt made his first 02 appearance. He had a rock bank, (which is awesome times a thousand!) and did something
interesting with hair gel…but basically his character in 02 was a singing piece of eye candy that “innocently”
won over the hearts of Sora and Jun. He wasn’t in the show nearly enough, and when he was, it was random filler episodes
just to reunite him with Gabumon. Relationships: Like I said before, he’s best friends with Tai. He even calls Tai his “best friend”
in the latter part of season two. But I guess Matt has quite a complex relationship with T.K.. In the first season, Matt is
obsessed with keeping him safe. He’s slightly more than an overprotective brother, and he’s sooo hurt when T.K.
goes off and does things on his own. Coupling: His stupid (but still awesome) rock band created the downfall of the most advanced couple in the show.
Matt stole away something so sweet and wonderful. Yes, maybe because he was hot and popular and stuff…but Tai was sooo
sad!! Matt and Sora waltz into the second half of the season with their arms around each other all the time! Okay, so maybe
they were the only Digidestined to actually express themselves as a couple, but still! Tai was like, Matt’s best friend
and then he stole Sora’s heart!? I know it wasn’t all his fault…and I know some people would argue that
Tai took the whole thing really well…but it’s just not meant to be. In fact, I’m slightly Junato…and
Taito (drool). But I’m strongly anti-Mimato. I’m sorry, I just don’t understand it. We all know he gets
together with Sora. Where does Mimi even come into…well, anything to do with
Matt? Or any of these three characters for that matter? (I’m sorry, please don’t kill me). Anyway on with the
ranting… Here’s a tip
for anyone who’s planning on a musical career: Become an astronaut. Family: A mom who write for a magazine I think, a dad who’s a TV station director that gets pretty involved
with the Digimon adventure, and actually helps them out quite a bit, and T.K.. Matt lives with his dad. Matt’s
Digimon: Tsunomon, Gabumon, Garurumon, WereGarurumon, MetalGarurumon, and Omnimon. My favorite quotes: “Well at least
my cat’s not stuck in a tree!” “T.K., you
can have my college money!” Risu: Matt-san!
Anything you’d like to add to my beautiful piece of literature? Matt: ╬ >_< Izzy: Oops. Sora Takenouchi: Crest of Love Crest
of Love…yep, that sounds about right. No seriously, I liked Sora in season one. Despite all the nasty-ish things I’ve
already said about her. She had a strong, optimistic, pro-teamwork personality…and I admired that (Although Joe was
pretty optimistic too, right? Lol). I guess if you really think about it, Sora saved everyone’s butts from DemiDevimon
during the “complete turmoil saga”. I like to call her “mystery Sora” in those episodes because well…everyone
though she was like, a dream or and ghost or something. I actually had absolutely no problems with Sora until 02. Hey, and
she taught all them people in the convention center how to weaken Bakemon… so she was pretty useful. (Joe and Sora: Bakemon lose you power… Izzy: Nooo! Make it
stop!) So anyway, I liked
the different character types in season one. Sora had this mother-complex that was slightly hard to understand…with
the whole “stop playing soccer and help with the family flower business” thing. And her father seemed to travel
WAY too much. I can see why Sora always had to stay strong. It was really a shocker when she had that breakdown episode before
her crest started to glow. She hated it when everyone fought with each other, and in that sense, she’s just like me.
Also, anyone who looks good in a helmet has to be appreciated. Okay, now for 02…Just
as I had a rather strong opinion of 02 Matt, I have an even stronger one about 02 Sora: She has absolutely no personality
whatsoever. She went from a strong, determined, respectable character to an uninteresting, insecure, floozy who breaks poor
Tai’s heart and sends him into perpetual misery. But I’ve already expressed my hate toward Sorato enough. In all
fairness, Sora is a very talented tennis player, and I should give her credit for playing a sport other than soccer. (Soccer
and Digimon: wouldn’t the show have been much more interesting if Davis and Ken did that “dangerous bicycle-racing”
thing that Japan’s famous for?) (Risu: ::grins evilly::
Hehehe… Ken: Help!) But again, she was
just another guest-appearance filler episode character. I really don’t have a very long, detailed analysis of her in
02, like I do with Matt and Tai. I’m just a Sora-hater, and that’s all. Her character doesn’t interest me
whatsoever. Relationships: Sora and Mimi are good friends I guess. They’re the same age, and both girls, and I guess they
never fight…so that makes them friends. Sora sticks up for Mimi sometimes, and is there to comfort her when she cries.
Are they “best friends”? Not really, but I think they had some girl-like conversations a couple times. Coupling:
Sora and Tai were perfect, Sora and Matt are not. If only Sora wouldn’t be so…teenagery. Blah, blah, blah…I’m
done with this. Let’s get out of this insane love triangle. Family: A mom, whom she has a slightly distant relationship with, a “magical creature chasing”
dad who seems to never be around. Sora’s
Digimon: Yokomon, Biyomon, Birdramon, Garudamon. (Garudamon is, and always will be
the most gigantic of all Digimon.) My favorite quotes: “Too bad his
brain isn’t as big as his hair.” “Thank you
fish!” Risu: ::yawn!::
I’m done. Anyone have anything else to add? Sora: Um… Risu: Besides the person I was just bashing. Izzy: Yeah, is “teenagery”
a word? Risu: Hey, President
Harding made up the word “normalcy”. Izzy: No he didn’t…
Koushiro Izumi: Crest
of Knowledge I love Izzy. Izzy is wonderful. Izzy is great.
Izzy makes me squeal…all the time. When I first started watching Digimon, I didn’t really give him much though.
He was just sort of there. But after a while, I realized that Izzy is the best darn anime character that anyone could possibly
make up. Yes, he’s another favorite character of mine. I like to think of Izzy as my evil alter-ego (even though Izzy
is far from evil). In 01, he just so gosh
darn cute! I never understood why people make fun of his height? He’s perfectly normal for a Japanese person (please,
nobody take offense). He sits there all the time on his little pineapple laptop and works as the brain for pretty much all
the characters who don’t have one. And his “evil alien plot” thing in the beginning was genius. Throughout
the season, his little blurbs of character development prove that he’s not just another computer geek character that’s
only in the show to explain things that otherwise wouldn’t make any sense. He’s actually on this constant quest
for knowledge, (and probably the meaning of life and all that junk…lol). I personally think Izzy is the only character
who really, truly bonded with his Digimon. There’s proof of this in the “No Questions, Please” episode,
or “the episode that proves the creators of Digimon have wild imaginations”. Everyone accepts Izzy, though. Probably
because without him, they would all be bumbling around walking into things. (Tai: I really don’t understand her humor.) Anyway, going along
with my obsession of the different character types, Izzy’s character complex is more in depth than most of the other
characters, even though we don’t see it right away. I can’t help but wonder what goes through his head when everyone
talks about their families. I mean, he’s adopted…and he knows it, but his parents don’t know he knows that he’s adopted. How’s that for a confusing
explanation! Lol. He really loves his parents and pleases them in everything he does. In the couple times we hear Mr. and
Mrs. Izumi talking, they seem to think that Izzy was send to them from God. Hmm, does anyone think I should have a sub-plots
section instead of going off onto these tangents? You’ll see more of this if I ever get to Cody. (Cody: Great…) Okay, so it’s
about time I moved on to 02. Izzy is one of the few characters that I adore to death in both seasons. He got taller, and respectively
good-looking. I don’t care what everyone says. His hair looks hot when it’s short! (Although I’m still holding
back my anger with adult Tai) His personality was similar, but I think he may have been even more developed in 02 than he was in 01…which is confusing, yes. Maybe it was puberty or something, but I
was absolutely ecstatic when he reprimanded Tai after the “Agumon has a bloody Dark-Spiral” episodes. Oh yes,
and before I forget, Izzy was the only character that actually made sense as an adult (and his daughter is so cute, she should
guest-star on Cardcaptor Sakura). At least T.K. got someone’s grown-up bio
right. (T.K.: Stop holding
grudges on me!) -__- Anyway, I praise
the writers for giving Izzy so many appearances in season two. He was by no means a lame “filler character”. Izzy
was like, the tech…master of the new Digidestined. He worked behind the
scenes in the computer lab that the Digidestined used all the time, and of course, he was in a couple filler episodes as well.
But on numerous occasions, he did research and explain things to the younger Digidestined, probably because he was, and always
will be the only character that can make sense. He’s an amazing character that neither season could do without. I guess
that sums him up. The word, “prodigious” also sums him up. (^__^) Relationships: His friendship with Tai was outrageously funny, I swear I almost died when I saw the episode, “The
Crest of Light” and Izzy and Tai had their famous “fake fight”. I also like how Tai had so much faith in
Izzy when he let him figure out the Myotismon’s gate puzzle. I also thought they were so cute when Tai tried to beat
him up in “My Sister’s Keeper”. But enough examples. Tai is the only Digidestined that really understood
and interacted with Izzy. I don’t mean he understood all the high-tech stuff Izzy blabbed about, I just mean that Tai
understood how important Izzy was to the group. And Tai’s mother absolutely adores Izzy for being such a perfect child.
XD Coupling: Okay, I’m going to be COMPLETELY honest. My favorite couple (non shounen-ai) in all of Digimon is
Mishiro/Koumi. Yes, I understand how little sense the couple makes, but I love all the Izzy and Mimi fanart floating around.
Usually, it’s Japanese, so I’m assuming that the couple makes more sense to them. But seriously, opposites attract,
right? The only episode that suggests Mishiro is “A Clue From the Digi-Past”, which is cute, but I guess Izzy
seems too naïve to understand love in the first season. Mimi and Izzy really have no relationship in the show, and she probably
thinks he’s too smart for her, but there’s always destiny, right? Izzy would probably be the happiest computer
geek in the world if someone like Mimi would be his girlfriend. Oh, and the next person who says Izzy and his computer would
make a good couple should go die in a pit. (Izzy: ::typing happily
on his computer while everyone else stares at him:: ::he looks up at them and smiles, with happy cuteness bubbles around him::
What? Is she still talking about me?) Like I said, I love
Izzy. That’s why this analysis is so long. Family: an adopted mom, who cooks excellent food and snacks, and an adopted dad who we don’t know much about
except that he’s somehow related to one of Izzy’s real parents). Izzy’s Digimon: Motimon, Tentomon, Kabuterimon, MegaKabuterimon My favorite quotes: “Tai:
Why? Do you think we're too dumb to understand? “You’re
a bully, and a ruffian!” Risu: Okay, now I’m done. There’s nothing else to say about my Kou-kun. Izzy: Why am I all of
a sudden “hers”? Tai: Beats me. I’m
just glad she’s done talking about the rest of us. Joe: I’m afraid.
Mimi Tachikawa:
Crest of Sincerity I know a lot of Digimon fans have things against
Mimi. They find her annoying, irritating, sissy, ditsy, whiney, and insane. Well, in a way I don’t disagree…except
for some reason, I like Mimi. Every show needs a Mimi, just like every show needs a Tai. So what if she’s a stereotypical
blonde with a pink fetish (even though her hair is technically light brown)? Mimi is
very sincere and open about her feelings, and expresses them in a slightly louder way than the others. In 01, Mimi is the
character that even little T.K. has a crush on. (T.K.: Says who?) Says me. Anyway,
Mimi is the prettiest of all the female characters. And she can sing a whole lot better than Matt…which makes her genuinely
cool. I don’t really have that much to say about Mimi in season one. I thought that “Princess Mimi” thing
was a little bizarre, but it did prove that she didn’t need a refund on singing lessons (why did Izzy make that comment,
anyway? Izzy’s a little bizarre too). (Izzy: But you just
got done saying you loved me!) At any rate, sub-plot
wise, Mimi doesn’t really have one. No problematic family issues here. Her relationship with her parents is normal (although
her parents are not), and her relationship with her Digimon is normal. When I first began watching the show, I wasn’t
quite sure why she didn’t have the pink Digimon. I mean, come one…a girl like Mimi with a giant cactus? But I
guess the show went on for so long, it didn’t really seem to matter anymore. Now, if I picture Mimi with Biyomon, I
would just get confused. And confusing things…confuse me. Yes, I am just
wasting space with Mimi’s bio…I guess I should go to season two ne? The pink hair with
stars in it threw me completely off. During T.K.’s explanation in the first episode of 02, we see a picture of Mimi
having rather fro-like brown hair (which was also a shocker)…but then when she makes her “filler episode”
appearances, she had this outrageously pink hair that may be even more annoying than the color I’m using to type this.
I’m not sure why the artists decided to draw her in such a patriotic outfit, either. If I moved to Japan, I wouldn’t
walk around with a shirt that had a large red circle on it. XD. But alas, that isn’t the point I was trying to make.
I guess what I’m saying is, her parents are really weird. I mean, they get so freaked out by Lilymon, so they move to
another country? I really don’t get it. Just because of this, Mimi’s in fewer episodes than Joe…and even
when she does fly in, she comes with her British-American friend Michael who just “happens” to be Digidestined
with a huge crush on her. Blah! I’m sorry, Mimi. I’m not blaming you for anything. I just have nothing to say
about you so I decided to rant (which is the one thing I’m good at). Relationships: Well, I already talked about Mimi and Sora, so there’s no need for that. Mimi and Joe actually
seem like the best of friends in 01. This wasn’t apparent until the Dark Masters saga, but they almost seem like soul
mates. I don’t really favor this couple much, so I’ll talk about it in the friendship section. Anyway, Joe always
seems like such a gentleman, and he even volunteers to protect Mimi when she decides to split from the group. They are a really
cute pair of friends…and I guess Gomamon got Joe to say he thinks she’s pretty but…OKAY I give up! They
probably should be a couple…but I guess I just love Izzy so much that I wish
he and Mimi would get together. I was slightly relieved to see that Mimi and Joe are completely separated in 02. And with
Joe being a distinguished med student, and Mimi being a star-spangled partygoer…there’s just wouldn’t be
any chemistry. Coupling: I guess I already explained Mimi and Izzy, and Mimi and Joe. And of course, how much I hate Mimi and
Matt, and Mimi and Tai (which makes even less sense than the other one). Family: A really strange mom who I think was probably exactly like Mimi when she was younger, and a really
strange dad who, if I recall, wears dark glasses all the time…oh, and in an early episode she said she had a baby brother,
but that was probably just added into the English dub because they needed something for her to whine about. Mimi’s
Digimon: Tanemon, Palmon, Togemon, Lilymon My Favorite Quotes: Sadly, I can’t
really think of anything interesting Mimi ever said. I think she might have said some pretty funny things when the Neumamon(sp?)
was hitting on her.
Jyou Kido: Crest of
Reliability If I had little to say about Mimi, I’ll
probably have less to say about Joe (hooray for wasting space!). He was never a favorite character of mine, and probably never
will be (sad, maybe…but true). His role in the show is strictly first season, probably because he isn’t really
a kid anymore by the second. In my opinion, he’s one of those characters who aren’t really there to be anyone’s
favorite…he’s just sort of there to keep the show going. I mean, without Joe and his Digimon, nobody would have
been able to cross water and stuff, and nobody would have had a reliable…friend. I did like the episode where he was
enslaved at Digitamamon’s Diner and like, broke the hell out of everything. You could say that Joe in 01 had the second
most dramatic character change, only topped by Matt. His pessimism really irritated me, and the fact that he was just so...“I
have to study all the time and whine about dangerous situations” and blah,
blah, blah. Okay, so I am being really harsh on him. Joe is an okay guy. He’s
the first Digidestined to have a completely abnormal hair color, right? That is until we meet Yolei. His sweater-vest thing
creeped me out, but I shouldn’t make fun of anymore fashion. Just thinking about Davis is making me wish I hadn’t
spent so much time making fun of Mimi’s outfit. (Davis: Hey guys,
was Risu-chan making fun of me again? Joe: I’m pretty
sure she’s supposed to be making fun of me right now. Izzy: No, she was definitely
just talking about Mimi. Her phrasing is getting a little sloppy though. Risu: Arggg! Is
anyone still listening to me?!) Anyway, like I was
saying about the character change, it seems Joe thought he needed to take responsibility for everyone’s well-being in
the Dark Masters saga. He was definitely the most mature person in the season, and chivalrous in his actions to protect Mimi.
Although after this, I didn’t quite understand why he went off on his own, leaving Mimi behind with an ogre, a guy made
of fire, and a guy made of snow. The “Joe’s Battle” episode was a little startling, I must say. I guess
he wanted to…find himself, or something. Make himself stronger before he
faced Piedmon? There’s a mess of reasons why he did this…but he did help in bringing Sora back to life (maybe
by saying his infamous line, “Once, it’s took four of us to get my grandmother off the toilet.”). All throughout
the second half of the season, instead of constantly complaining, Joe became stronger. So okay, I’m not much of a Joe-basher.
It’s just so mean to make fun of the guy…even though his outfit probably emits more nerd-rays than Izzy and Joe’s
personalities combined. Oh yes…sub-plot time! Our poor aspiring junior med student has one of the strangest and secretive
family lives of anyone. Apparently his father pushed him so much into studying medicine, that Joe believes he has to be a doctor or else. We see his brother Jim in a couple episodes, seeming to be the only family member
who he lives with. I got so confused when Jim would say, “So, are you still thinking about being a doctor?” which
makes it seem as though Joe lives alone and never even talks to his brother. Then Jim would tell him he can’t handle
anything, and I felt kinda bad for Joe. Now I’m very
sorry, but I’m going to have to say the words “filler episodes” again, for lack of a better phrase. Joe
in season two was like, the definition of a filler character. He was in two or three episodes involving the Digimon Emperor,
appeared briefly in the “Ghost of a Chance” episode (aw man! Now I’m dying
to talk about Wizardmon! I guess I’ll make a Digimon analysis section after this), was in the “Digimon World Tour”,
as well as appearing in the end just because everyone else does. Poor filler characters…I wish I could feel their pain.
But whatever. I guess Joe did go to college and study medicine. And then, surprise surprise, he became a doctor! Yeah, Joe’s
rather boring in both seasons, no offense to people who like him. Relationships: Joe’s friendship with Mimi is the only one that really stands out. I like them as friends…both
like to complain and whine. I already mentioned the whole, separating from the group thing. Not much to say here. Joe was
sort of friends with everybody equally. Coupling: Mimi and Joe I already kinda explained. Basically they make the most sense and actually have some evidence,
but they have no chemistry after the first season. Family: Non-existent parents, although we hear about his dad a couple times, Jim—the supposedly hot brother
(according to Jun) who was a med student but became a magical creature chaser with Mr. Takenouchi. Joe’s Digimon:
Bukamon, Gomamon, Ikakkumon, Zudomon My Favorite Quotes:
The aforementioned “grandmother” quote. Risu-chan: Yeah
so…I’m done with Joe. Now on to T.K.! Yolei and Sora have already tied him up in the back room so he can’t
hear me. ::laughs notoriously:: Sora: Wait...I thought
you hated me the most…
Takeru Takaishi: Crest
of Hope So I finally got to the bearer of the crest of
Hope. Yes, I do have some problems with him, but I also like him in some ways. T.K., in my opinion, is the most important
character. (Kari: He had to
leave the room for that?) Let me explain. Of
course, he isn’t Tai or Izzy, but everyone who’s seen Digimon has to admit that T.K. is a pretty crucial character
to the storyline in season one. Sure, he’s like a three-year-old who’s technically eight, but young crybabies
always end up being the definition of “good things come in small packages.” T.K.’s Digimon apparently possessed
more power than all the others each time it Digivolved, making T.K. seem special compared to characters like Izzy, Mimi, and
Joe. When I first saw the episode where MagnaAngemon threw Piedmon into the “Gate of Destiny”, I was like, “Man!
That’s totally cheating!” Now that I think about it, the attack was probably just a portal to the Dark Ocean.
But I digress…In the first season, T.K. was MAD powerful…although really cute at the same time. He cried significantly
more than Mimi, making him significantly more annoying…but I have a theory that if Matt weren’t there, T.K. would
have probably grown up a lot faster than he did. Speaking of growing up, that was probably T.K.’s big character developmental
thing for the first season. In the beginning of the season, he went into complete hysterics when he didn’t have Matt
around. He might have felt the same way when his dad left, but I really have no idea. Anyway, by the time everyone returned
to annihilate the Dark Masters, T.K. started to realize he was being babied. Again I’m gonna say I felt bad for Matt
at this point, not T.K.. Though I guess T.K. never bothered me in the first season. He always said the most adorable things
that made me want to hug him! And he destroyed numerous bad guys. (T.K.:
How is that making fun of me? Risu: be patient grasshopper…I mean, what?! How’d you get
out? Season
two T.K.…hmmm, where should I begin? I hate him! How’s that? Just kidding, I’ll be nice. So he started out narrating, which
I didn’t give a second thought to. But then, once the first episode was finished, I was ready to scream, “Where’s
the rest of my Digidestined!” T.K. had never been one of my favs, and now he was gonna star in an entire season with
Kari and some other numbskull new people!? That feeling lasted until about the next episode when I realized they weren’t
really writing out all the old characters. But anyway, T.K. grew up WAY too much in four years. I know that was his supposed
“character development trait”, but he went from a powerful little cutie to this, non-interesting…I’m
not sure what to call him (although still pretty cute ^_~). It was a little confusing to see him taller than Kari (and most
likely Izzy)…but I suppose that’s what happens to boys as they get older. We got to see a little more about his
relationship with his different family members in 02, which showed how much things developed since 01. He’s closer to
his mom now, and doesn’t seem to visit his dad too often. Matt’s okay with it, now that Matt’s off doing
whatever. They act more like friends than brothers in 02. Okay, I guess I can’t
hide my hate forever...I really dislike T.K.’s personality and character in 02. He didn’t really seem at all like
I had hoped he would turn out, and to top it all off, he didn’t have the special Digimon anymore! Now that we had Davis
and Ken to eventually create the Level 100 Mewtwo of Digimon (Imperialdramon), there
was nothing left for T.K. but a horse. I guess I should feel sorry for him, but I don’t. (Davis: Jeez! Straightforward
much?) In my opinion, he
didn’t possess any character traits that were needed to the Digidestined. Was he there just because Kari needed someone
to keep Davis away? Or did they just need a character for Cody’s Digimon to DNA with? I did, however, find it tremendously
funny that T.K. could only blow his stack when he removed the “Gilligan hat” from his head. One of my favorite
scenes in Digimon was when T.K. and the Digimon Emperor had a fistfight at the Emperor’s base. It was all…angst
and coolness. Okay, so he really isn’t all bad. But obviously I’ve been avoiding the main reason I don’t
like T.K.—the final episode. I’m sorry I have to throw my last episode rant into T.K.’s bio, but they kinda
go hand in hand. (Tai: Ugh! Joe: Here we go.) Yes, here we go…first
off, if you’re going to reveal to us that the entire story was actually written and narrated by you, at least get yourself
together with the girl you like! Sheesh! T.K. obviously isn’t married to Kari…and their kids look nothing alike
to boot. Takari was so, you know, there…and cute. Yes, I DO blame T.K. for
the ending of the season, and I know it seems harsh, but well, MATT AND SORA FRIGGIN’ GET MARRIED!!! It’s wrong
on a million levels and everybody knows it. I wish he could have spent for time talking about everybody. And I’m sorry,
but is T.K. became the UGLIEST out of all the adults…which isn’t saying much because the only one who became even
the slightest bit hotter was Tai. You know what…I’m gonna stop. This is turning into a “wild anger”
section instead of a T.K. section. There are so many things I need to say about the ending, that I need to dedicate another
section to it later. Please remind me to do that. (Ken: ::looks around::
Risu-chan, you scared everyone off! Risu: Great! No
more interruptions!) So like I was going
to say… Relationships:
In the first season, the person he looked up to the most was Matt, which is obvious.
I already explained the story behind this, but in a nutshell, they have a sibling complex: Matt acts to overprotective, and
eventually T.K. can’t stand that anymore. But then, he also becomes quite good friends with Kari in 01. In 02, T.K.
has some anger issues with Davis, by which I mean Davis was angry with him…all the time. He had that DNA connection
with Cody, but personally, I think the only reason for that was because everyone else was already paired off with their best
friends. I guess Kari was his only really good friend in that season. Which transitions
into Couplings! Coupling: I’m truly very sorry, but I will never understand any couplings for T.K. other than Takari. Takari was so incredibly obvious/cute throughout
the two seasons. Even though they were little in 01, there was something about them talking to each other that was irresistibly
adorable. I’ll never forget when Piedmon’s like, “Looks like you two are falling for each other!” (Piedmon: That was
supposed to be a pun you imbecile! Not a romance hint!” Risu: ::twitch,
twitch:: Ken? Are you still here?...Ken?!) Anyway, T.K. seemed
to have an obvious crush on Kari in 02, and everyone knew it (which is why Davis was so angry all the time). They ALWAYS went
off together, and if my assumptions are correct, Gatomon and Patamon seemed pretty close as well. Oh yes! Big Takari thing:
If you recall those episodes where Kari was sucked into the Dark Ocean and T.K. went to rescue her, I believe that’s
when he did one of those “almost admitting his true feelings” things. Kari caught on right away and said that
she liked him, or something (I evidently need to re-watch that episode). So I guess even if I hate T.K., I adore Takari. Family: Ack! I’m wasting too much space! He lives with his Mom. See Matt’s bio for the rest. T.K.’s Digimon: Tokomon, Patamon, Angemon, MagnaAngemon, Pegasusmon, Shakkoumon My Favorite Quotes: “Boy, Patamon, I like swimming and everything, but that
waterfall almost knocked off my underpants!” (I don’t remember this quote but I really, really hope it was season
one (O_o) lol. Risu: Hey, you can
all come back now. (Everyone files back
into the room. Ken sneaks behind the group.) Risu: -_- I decided
on skipping Ken’s bio. Is that alright with everyone? Ken: ::sob!:: But I’m
already last!
